Hope 2009 brings good winds to you all, there are some big waves developing out there. Just read the December issue of "Sailing", the article titled "Re-assessment of South Africa’s National Classes" by Roger Bartholomew / Len Davies / Roy Dunster / Rob M’Crystal.
Do you have any comments or suggestions?
What is clear though is that the 505 class is one of the few classes that complies with most of the criteria. Your Exco is currently busy formulating a strategy to make the most out of this opportunity. We need your inputs now, so please drop us a mail.
Next event is the Charity Regatta to be held at PSC on the 24th-2th January 2009. This is in support of the NSRI so please support the regatta if you are in the area.
If you dont have a crew, skipper or boat start making enquiries now. There are a number of spare boats, and bodies around and we want to see everyone possible sailing. By the way the Rankings for the 2008-2009 season are starting to look quite interesting. The Rankings are up on the web in the downloads section.
If you want to sell your boat, please drop us an email with a photo and it will be put on the web. Or you can submit it yourself on the web.
The video of the training at the Duffin Trophy is nearing completion. Everyone who was there features in some way, and there are some good lessons to be learnt as well as some big laughs. We will be selling the video for a nominal price to cover production costs. A big thank you to Enid Klaas is in order for her hard work in preparing this.
