International 505 Site - Have you visited it yet?

International

The International 505 website (http://www.int505.org/) has been updated to include Africa specific information. There is a category for events in Africa, which Peter Roos has started updating, and also a forum for discussions relevant to the fleets on the continent.

We urge all members to make use of it. We would like the international community to know that the RSA fleet is healthy, active, participating, and proud of their performances and achievements.

Does anyone want to volunteer for the local administrator role? If so please contact one of the Exco members on rsa505@rsa505.org.za

Ballot on Carbon Spars

International

A recent Email from our international secretary Peter Roos reads:

Good morning, gentlemen and ladies

I am pleased to be able to release the results of the recent ballot concerning carbon spinnaker poles and booms.
The ballots have been recorded and approved by two members of the IEC as required.
The overall results of the ballot were:
For 168 Against 116

The motion to allow the use of carbon booms and poles is therefore carried. The appropriate wording will be introduced into the current rules of the class.

Regards

Peter

Hi Ladies and Gents,

Please receive the ballot form for the proposal on allowing carbon booms and poles in the fleet. Find it here

I would appreciate it if you check with colleagues from other fleets to ensure that every boat owner has access to the ballot, even in other national fleets.

All boat owners should fill in and submit the ballot forms to Peter by email peter@trequity.co.za
