29 July,

The Pre Worlds ended yesterday with some interesting changes in the final results. The Funke Brothers moved up to position number 14 (they managed to get a 7th position in race 6). Rudolph and I moved up to 17. Plattner/Alerie moved up to 20. Klaas/Von Grünewaldt to 21 (they managed an excellent 5th position in race 5). Holm/Buhrmann moved up to 28th and the Ham father/son team ended in position 34 (Alexander Ham is the helmsman, he is only 16 years old)!

Denmark Worlds - Boats loaded

International

The 5 South African teams competing in the 2010 505 Worlds in Aarhus, Denmark loaded their boats into the container on the 7th June 2010.

You can see pictures from the container packing exercise in the gallery. Just once again wanted to thank Peter for all the effort in arranging the container and shipping, a massive task. I also think we should get him to sing Madonna, "Like a Virgin" at the worlds with his nice little reflector vest ;-) See the photo!

With the boats shipped sailing training will be difficult, but concentrated fitness training will continue in the winter months, while everyone else is watching the Soccer World Cup over June-July.
5 boats were loaded and the container should return with 3 second hand boats destined for Durban, Cape Town and Knysna, to further grow the fleets there.
