505 Nationals 2011 - the build up begins!!!!!
The 505 Nationals are around the corner and top teams are building their respective campaigns to try and win this prestigious trophy. There are also numerous prizes up for grabs which include a brand new jib (sponsored by SUPA SAILS- thanks Rob!), yachting goodies, golf shirts and many more.

Lets go SAILING!
RTIR results are available
The Annual Round The Island Race was held in light conditions at LDYC on the 6th Feb 2011.
Hans Rogotzki won the tune up race on handicap in "Flying Freddie" from Dirk von der Fecht in his FD on Saturday.
In the RTIR on Sunday two 505's took part, in a fleet of about 238 boats. Hans Rogotzki finished in 29th place on handicap with an elapsed time of 2h44 and Jean Martin Zuidersma finished in 122nd place with an elapsed time of 4h37. The winner finished in a time of 1h24.

505 Northvaal Provincial Championships has been rescheduled to 13-14th November 2010!
Please note that the 505 Northvaal Provincials which was originally scheduled for the 24-26 September at Aeolians has been rescheduled to the 13th-14th November, still at Aeolians, Vaal Dam. This event replaces the Duffin Trophy, which was originally scheduled for that date at Aeolians, but which took place at ABYC, PE in March.
The 505 Exco want to encourage as many boats as possibe to attend this event as it counts heavily towards your ranking for the season. We also see many dusty boats standing around crying to be sailed.
2010 Highveld Championships - PSC (28-29 Aug 2010)-THIS WEEKEND!
505 sailors ATTENTION!
The next regatta is the Highveld Champs next week (28th-29th August) at PSC. The NOR is attached to this Email. There are several boats available if you need to borrow a boat, but you need to phone around and find them yourself. At the moment there are approximately 8 boats who are able to attend. Please make an effort and get hold of an Exco member if you want to sail but are unable to locate a boat.
This is your chance to ask the worlds participants what they learnt and get some fresh Go Fast tips from them.
