Measurement Day

Today was measurement day. The wind was blowing a good 20-25knots (photo in the gallery)but we did not go onto the water, as we still had quite a lot of work to do on the boat.
This gave me a great opportunity to investigate other boats and steal with the eyes... these people have incredible pole launching systems! This is the ultimate way to go and all South African 505 sailors should convert to this system. All Americans have converted to Carbon booms. Most of them are just circular, with some of the Ausies having rectangular ones. There are some photos posted in the gallery of the booms and double pole systems.

The Pre-worlds start on Tuesday with tomorrow open for some practice and tweaking of the boats. We will need to optimize some of the systems on the boat and take it from there.

Stay tuned for further updates.
Regards,
Peter Funke
